The need to protect human free will from technologically determined manipulation in a social environment formed by information society services, of which the digital media ecosystem is a part, is one of the conditions for the existence of democracy in the 21st century. If a solution to this problem is to be effective and legitimate, it needs to combine technological, social scientific, media and institutional aspects in a functional way, and to be based on current empirical knowledge. The CEDMO II project focuses on the creation of applicable, effective tools and measures based on proven needs (evidence-based). The guarantee of a successful implementation is the inter-disciplinary consortium consisting of leading academic institutions - CTU (artificial intelligence), Charles University (social science aspects), MU (legal aspects), UPOL (digital literacy), as well as public service media (CTK), and a non-governmental fact-checker (Demagog.cz).
