CANCELLED -- Challenges in Trustworthy NLP

Anders Søgaard (University of Copenhagen)

***We regret to announce that the lecture has been cancelled. We hope to reschedule this event to a later date as soon as possible.***

I sketch a number of bottlenecks for progress in fair and explainable NLP. Some of these result from foundational problems, some from lack of commonly accepted experimental protocols, and others from apparent impossibilities. I will present examples of recent and ongoing research that attempts to address these challenges.

Anders Søgaard is a full professor at the University of Copenhagen. Previously at University of Potsdam, Amazon and Google. Best paper awards at NAACL, EACL, CoNLL, and *SEM.

***The talk will be delivered in person (MFF UK, Malostranské nám. 25, 4th floor, room S1) and will be streamed via Zoom. For details how to join the Zoom meeting, please write to sevcikova et***
