Citation Requirements

All citations must include the full name of the archive or collection (e.g. USC Shoah Foundation / Refugee Voices), the narrator’s name, the interview identification (ID) number, and the name of the access-point institution.

Quoting Specific Sources

USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive

A citation must include:

  • Name or initials of the narrator

  • Interview identification (ID) number

  • Interview segment number and/or a precise time stamp

Recommended citation format:
“Interview with [narrator’s name], ID [interview identification number], segment number [optional], USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive, accessed at the Malach Centre, Charles University, LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ (LM2018101).”

Refugee Voices Archive

A citation must include:

  • Name of the narrator

  • Interview identification (ID) number

Recommended citation format:
“Interview with [narrator’s name], ID [interview identification number],  Refugee Voices Archive, accessed at the Malach Centre, Charles University, LINDAT/CLARIAH-CZ (LM2018101).”

Fortunoff Video Archive for Holocaust Testimonies

To obtain an official citation from the Fortunoff Archive, users must apply directly to the archive administration using the identification data of the specific interview. Requests should be sent to:
