Barbora Hladká is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics within the School of Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University. Since February 2021, she has served as the head of the institute. Her research focuses on natural language processing, particularly corpus annotation, information extraction, and applications of machine learning across various domains, especially the digital humanities. In 1998, she received the Post Workshop’98 Research Project Award from the Center for Language and Speech Processing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, where she later worked as a postdoctoral researcher from 2000 to 2001. She teaches undergraduate courses in machine learning for both Czech and international students and supervises undergraduate and graduate research.
