UFAL Videoconferencing portal

Login: part of your UFAL e-mail address before @ (mostly Surname)
Password: your UFAL Zimbra password
As we have only two Zoom licenses shared by many users, we were looking for other option to cover our needs. Finaly we've installed Jitsi based solution, with Zimbra as authenticating backed.
- Jitsi is opensource project, integrated in many solutions https://jitsi.org/
- There are no constraints on number of sessions or number of participants.
- There is no time limit.
- Interface is similar to Zoom.
How to start meeting? Just open the URL, give your your new meeting a name, allow can/mic access, select your own name in the Join meeting dialogue and click Join. You will be informed that no moderator had already arrived and the conference has not started yet. Click on Log-in to enter your login and password (as described above). Meeting will be started in several seconds.
Then you can configure your meeting, add Lobby etc. and invite people. You can share meeting URL, which is based on the meeting room name (https://visio.teamhub.ufal.mff.cuni.cz/UFALtestROOM). Try to use some sort of naming convention like your monogram and name of the room as in case of a collision the room is shared.
We've not tested features like recording, but testing videocalls where great, including integrated chat and voting option.
At the end of meeting you should end it - by disconnecting and selecting End meeting for all. The room is kept predefined in the list of your rooms and can be stared (or deleted) later.
