PDT 1.0 Acknowledgements And Project Staff

The Prague Dependency Treebank version 1.0 (PDT 1.0) has been developed in the years 1996-2001 at and by the Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics (directors: until 2001: Eva Hajicova, since 2001: Jan Hajic), in its former Linguistic Data Lab, and the newly established (in 2000) Center for Computational Linguistics (director: Eva Hajicova) at the School of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, under the following support: Ministry of Education of the Czech Republic projects No. VS96151 and LN00A063, Grant Agency of the Czech Republic grants Nos. 405/96/0198 and 405/96/K214, research funds of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic, and the U.S. NSF Grant #IIS9732388.

There are many, many people who have been involved one way or another in building the Prague Dependency Treebank. In the following lists, only those directly involved in the PDT construction are listed (but not, for example, those involved in building the Czech National Corpus, even though we have used a fraction of texts from CNC to start with; nor the members of the "NLP Core Technologies" team at the CLSP/JHU Workshop in 1998 which has developed the Czech parser used in the later stages of the analytical layer annotation). Alphabetical order (based on their last names) is used throughout.
