Instructions for presenters

Oral presentations

The talks are allotted 25 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions from the audience. Please ensure that your presentation does not exceed the allotted length.

Please bring your presentation in PowerPoint or PDF format with you on a CD or USB memory stick and submit the presentation material to the operator in the session room at least 20 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the session. The operator will load the presentation files to the notebook PC.

If you need to use your own laptop, you should bring all the necessary adaptors which are compatible with our beam projector (RGB port). The electricity supply is 220-volts AC EU standard.

Posters

As you can see from the program of the conference, the poster “advertisement” presentations will take place on Wednesday afternoon, August 28th, 2013, in the same room as all the previous oral presentations (S5 in the venue building, 2nd floor). Please prepare a PowerPoint or a PDF presentation for 5 minutes; in order to save time when switching speakers, send the presentation to the poster session organizer, Zdenka Uresova, uresova@ufal.mff.cuni.cz, ahead of time, on or before August 26th, 2013, in order to put them onto our presentation notebook which we will provide. You can use any MS WindowsTM PowerPoint version, or a PDF format compatible with Acrobat Reader X or earlier. In case of the PDF format, please make sure to include all fonts that you use in your presentation.

For the posters, we will provide poster easels in front of the presentation room (S5), before the afternoon coffee break on Wednesday, August 28th. We expect you to bring the posters printed on paper (A0 size, portrait orientation) and put them up during that very break, i.e. just before the block at the end of which you will present your slides to attract people to your poster. We will provide labels on the poster easels to direct you to “your” easel, as well as all necessary fixing material.

The posters should stay on display until 6pm the next day, i.e. Thursday, August 29th. You are expected to stand by your poster at three different times:

 (1) after the poster presentations on Wednesday (as long as there is interest from the audience...),

(2 and 3) during the morning and afternoon coffee breaks on Thursday, August 29th.

You are expected to remove your poster from the easels by 6pm, Thursday, August 29th; the poster easels will be removed during the evening hours of Thursday.

We will ask you to send us (optionally) your posters in a PDF format to display them online after the conference, to accompany the electronic version of your paper.
