When reference is subjected to evolution: how do we construct and interpret the "chains" between textuality and ontology?

Guy Achard-Bayle (Université de Lorraine, Metz)

In my presentation, I will deal with cases that illustrate, from textual and referential points of view, the linguistic and ontological problem which has been called by French semanticians /evolving reference/: the corpus which includes cooking recipes as well as stories of metamorphosis tends to show a conflict between principles of thematic organization (anaphoric continuity and coreference) and change of denomination in conformity with the physical process as it has been recorded by the text.
