Visas to the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is part of the European Union (incl. Schengen border-less region).
If you need a visa for entering the European Union (check the map), we can issue a letter of invitation for you. If you know you need them, please do so at your earliest convenience; the embassy might need quite a long time to approve it! (U.S. citizens do not need visa for up to 90 days.)
To find out more, please visit the most authoritative place about short stays in the Czech Republic at the pages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
To ask for the letter of invitation, please send the following information to
kotesovcova-at-ufal.mff.cuni.cz
:
- Your name and surname (i.e. family name)
- Nationality
- Date of birth
- Address of residence
- Name and address of your employer
- Passport number

- Your fax number
- Proof of accommodation. (In case you are booking your accommodation through us, please do fax us your credit card details as instructed.)
- If we don't know you, we may ask you for additional information, e.g. your CV or list of publications.
We will fax the letter of invitation to you. (Embassies are usually happy to accept fax versions of invitation letters.)
