P
Optional element for all-uppercase "speech-like transcription"
of the original data tokens (i.e., of the <f> elements) into "pronounced" form.
It is performed for the following token types:
- numbers (<f num> etc.): transcribed into the
correct inflected form using words (ex.: <f num>7
into <P>SEDMI if it should be e.g. the locative
case);
- abbreviations (<f abbr> as well as anything
having the digit 8 as the last symbol of the tag):
transcribed using the common pronunciation for the given
abbreviation: either as an acronym, or as a sequence of spelled-out
letters (ex.: <f cap>Svazarm into
<P>SVAZARM, <f upper>SSSR into
<P>ESESESER, <f abbr.mixed>MUDr into
<P>MUDR).
- certain foreign words: using the common pronunciation.
For all other tokens, they are only transformed to all-uppercase
and left as they were in the original data. It is never used for
punctuation unless the punctuation is commonly pronounced in some
way.
In all cases, regular pronunciation is not transcribed in
this way, it is considered to be recorded in a pronunciation
dictionary as usual. This tag is meant to unify the actual
pronunciation if, e.g., the text is read aloud.
