This directory contains TrEd installation. TrEd requires ActiveState Perl to run on Windows. To install everything (TrEd, ActiveState Perl) on Windows, run setup_arab_win.bat or setup.bat from this directory. If your Windows support the bidirectionality of the Arabic script, you should run setup_arab_win.bat. It uses Tk 800, which converts, internally, the data into cp1256 before rendering, but keeps their encoding intact in the representation. Otherwise, run setup.bat, which installs Tk 804. Using this along with the bidirectional support may lead to reversing of graphemes if the script includes diacritics. Editing of the Arabic script may also give unexpected results. It is, anyway, possible to run setup_arab_win.bat first, and if Arabic is not rendered correctly, to proceed with running setup.bat. If you needed to downgrade, i.e. run setup_arab_win.bat after having run setup.bat, you would have to delete the whole directory where Perl is installed prior to doing so.
