Barbara Partee, Amherst, MS, U.S.A.
B. H. Partee, Distinguished Professor of Linguistics and Philosophy, University of Massachusetts, Massachusetts and a Doctor honoris causa of Charles University and of Swathmore College, a member of the American Academy, is the founder of post-Montaguean intensional semantics of natural language. She regularly gives lectures on semantics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University.
Frederick Jelinek, Baltimore, MD, U.S.A.
Professor Jelinek is well known for his work in the field of statistical speech recognition and natural language processing. He spent years doing research in IBM Watson, then he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, and became the director of the Center for Language and Speech Processing (CLSP), Johns Hopkins University. He regularly gives lectures at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University on "Fundaments of Statistical Speech Recognition".
